SIDEKICK
A pencil and fineliner drawing for a theme assignment, 'sidekick'.
At the time, I was a fan of Akira, and thought Tetsuo was an interesting sidekick to Kaneda.
I came up with the idea of Tetsuo cowering in a corner, with Kaneda's shadow over him, simply offering him a hand.
The lower half of Kaneda's shadow spells out 'AKIRA' in the original Japanese font.

A tank I designed, and quickly coloured in Photoshop CS3.
The design was inspired by insects. |

GERARD

SPEED
PORTRAITS
Often
being on the train, and often being bored, I started drawing people speed
portraits. Gave me practice, as well as starting fun conversations with
these and surrounding people. They ranged from nice old ladies to Azian
revolutionary poets. No matter how different they were, they were all
constantly moving, giving me quite a challenge.

BLOODSUCKER GAME OVER SCREEN

This is actually one of my first digitally coloured works. |

 |
WALKER
A vehicle I designed for college a long time ago. It's a slow walking
rough terrain vehicle for one person,
inspired by the Magitek Armor designs from Final Fantasy VI. |
 |
PALAZZO
Really old fanart of Kefka Palazzo, the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VI, and my favourite game villain.
Drawn in fineliner, edited in Photoshop CS2 |

DINNER
One of my first waterpaintings, and also very experimental, hence why I'm not extremely pleased with the result.
Inspired by drawings by Yoshitaka Amano and Akihiko Yoshida's artwork for Vagrant Story: it has a very warm and
French feel to it. |
 |
THE SACRIFICE
One of my waterpaintings, and also the only one I spent more than a week of work on.
I also noticed, through this work, how hard it is to get it's meaning through to your audience.
Only one person thus far has gotten the idea without explanation. Therefore, an explanation:
The woman is lying on her back, on a bed, with someone over here.
He has his hand over her, stained with her blood.
Clearly, to let him this close, she trusted him. Yet, it seems he has hurt her, to her horror.
